The Role of IT Technician

As an IT technician in Local IT Support within the IT Center, you will work with case management within processes for handling incidents and managing standard orders. Your main tasks will include troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of IT components for our workplace services within the region's hospitals and health centers. Additionally, you will work with support for our printing solution, mobile telephony, our video and conference room facilities, as well as certain parts of our communication solutions and IT components in the region's public transport and ambulances.

We offer a full-time temporary position with a desired start from March 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with a possibility of extension.

Your Future Workplace

The IT Center is a business area within Region Jönköping County with the overall responsibility for the region's IT operations. The work is directed towards all of the region's operations. Our customers utilize many different IT services in their daily lives within healthcare, public dental care, education, culture, and regional transport. This means that we always make decisions from a holistic perspective where the customer's needs and priorities are an important factor in all our activities and choices.

The IT Center works according to agile principles with the citizen at the center and a support process according to ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library). The operations of the IT Center mainly consist of investigation, management, development, and operation of IT system services. The strategic goals for the IT Center include that IT is an enabler for operations and citizens, working with quality as a strategy, and developing professional and improvement knowledge among our employees. We work process-oriented and quality-conscious in accordance with our ISO-certified management system. We are approximately 260 employees and are located in three places: Eksjö, Huskvarna/Jönköping, and Värnamo.

Local IT Support is a unit that exists in the three hospitals within the region and is responsible for delivering on-site support for the services that all employees in the region utilize. Our support consists of providing assistance with incidents, managing product orders, lifecycle management, and practical installation support of IT components. In these tasks, we closely collaborate with our Service Desk IT Support and management groups.

Your Profile

To be considered for the position, you have post-secondary education in IT or equivalent knowledge/education combined with experience that we assess as equivalent. Ideally, you have at least a couple of years of experience working with IT support. You have good knowledge of working with case management systems and several years of experience within the Microsoft client platform.

To thrive in the role, you are proactive and take responsibility for driving your tasks forward, both independently and together with others. You have good collaboration skills, are service-oriented, and communicate clearly in your interactions with users and colleagues. You are flexible and can adapt to changing conditions, decisions, and applicable policies. With a quality-conscious approach, you work structured and meticulously, even in periods of high workload, where you can prioritize and make well-founded decisions. Documenting work methods and routines is a natural part of your work. You care about security and confidentiality and have an interest in developing both yourself and the organization.
